Located at 14400 State Hwy Z, St. Robert, Missouri, right off Interstate 44 on Historic Route 66, Uranus is a roadside destination with a fudge factory, a sideshow museum, axe throwing, escape rooms, and a gift shop that has been making people say its name out loud for 11 years. It is not subtle. It is completely intentional. And it is absolutely worth stopping for.

The decision to name everything — the fudge, the gift shop, the whole operation — after the most reliably funny word in the English language turned out to be a business strategy so effective it’s now a Route 66 institution.

The Fudge Factory
This is the main event. Uranus makes fudge fresh every morning before opening at 8 am. There are eighteen flavors including chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate peanut butter, and M&Ms.
The fudge is genuinely good. That sounds like something we’d say regardless, but it’s the reason people who come in expecting a novelty stop end up buying fudge two pounds at a time. The Blueberry Cheesecake fudge is flavoured and coloured with real blueberries!
The Sideshow Museum
The Sideshow Museum features a cavalcade of outlandish sights, like shrunken heads and mutated creatures, and should be fun for the whole family.
The Gift Shop
The gift shop is where the branding reaches its full potential. Lip Shit lip balm. Uranus air fresheners. Fudge by the pound. Shirts, hats, keychains, and enough items that say “Uranus” on them to outfit your entire extended family. Check out our Uranus University Shirts––They’re my fave!

How Long Does a Visit Take?
A quick stop — fudge, gift shop, photo out front — takes about an hour or so.
A full visit hitting everything on the grounds: Expect to spend over an hour.

Getting There

From I-44: Take Exit 161, then turn onto State Hwy Z — you can’t miss it. Look for the giant signs and dinosaurs.
From Fort Leonard Wood main gate: About 5 minutes from base.
From Springfield: About 1 hour west on I-44.
From St. Louis: About 2 hours southwest on I-44.

When to Visit
Uranus is open year-round. The busiest season is late summer, early fall, when Route 66 road-trippers are in peak season. This is the year for the 2026 Route 66 Centennial, so expect even more traffic!
Last summer a bus tour from Ohio pulled in unannounced and bought every pound of Maple Walnut fudge before noon. We now keep extra batches on reserve through August. Abel Atkinson, our fudge-packer at that time, was shocked!
