Filming Miss Tiffany In Uranus

Tiffany: Doesn’t everyone hire a film crew during a Pandemic? Well, that’s not what Louie and I set out to do, but that’s what happened. And because Louie has the restraint of a kid in a candy store, we ended up hiring four film guys instead of one which was the original plan. He played it off as collecting boy toys for me to boss around. To be honest, I wasn’t too upset about the thought of that at the time. Little did I know, I would soon be dealing with four more versions of Louie. Imagine being the only girl, working with five guys, in a place where making jokes is the main part of the job. Oh, and 99.9% of those jokes are directed towards me. At least it seems that way sometimes. I feel like their little sister who they constantly tease and make fun of, but I know it’s not serious. They’d all have my back in a heartbeat and protect me from anything if need be. To me, that’s what makes us more than just coworkers. We are a family.
Enough from me though. I have asked each one of them to write a short paragraph on how they view our group dynamic. More specifically, how they view their relationship with me. I am not sure if they will admit to how much they tease me, but I am hoping…

Brian: For the past 3 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work a lot of sports and news with-in my field. I’ve loved it, but it’s very straightforward and lackluster at times. So when I got the opportunity to jump back into comedy, it was a no brainer for me. I made the leap and haven’t looked back. After being here going on 6 months, I find that our team is developing that chemistry that’s needed to continue pushing forward. As we crank out new ideas, it’s actually rather fun as we sit there giggling like school boys over the immaturity that we constantly get to release. Tiffany, is kinda like the mom of our team. She is by far the oldest and most mature out of all of us, so we make sure to follow her lead. I know she wants us to talk about the teasing, but there really isn’t that much. I mean, we respect our work mom and want to make sure that she stays happy. Always yes ma’am, no ma’am. She is one of the main people here and we just want her to know the love and respect we have for her. Thank you Tiffany, and remember, age is only a number, don’t worry about being older than us, we don’t hold it against you or care.

NoahI really enjoy being part of our little marketing team here in Uranus. I think we all have a good group dynamic. We get our work done and can be professional, but there is also a lot of joking that happens throughout the day. I’ll be honest, a lot of those jokes are directed towards Tiffany. It is just hard not to mess with her. She is an incredibly gullible person with an infectious laugh. I think she is definitely like a little sister to all of us, even though she is much, much older than me. Okay, I only added that last part because I know she’ll yell at me whenever she reads it. That’s okay though. I am used to her yelling things like, “Stop!” and “I hate you guys!” while she laughs at our jokes. This actually happens quite a bit whenever I’m editing footage of her. I often times will accidentally stop on a frame where she has a very unflattering face. In those moments, I always have a choice. Do I just continue editing and act like I didn’t see anything? Or, do I take the time to get my phone out, take a picture of her face and send it to her (and usually Brian.) The answer is always the second one. Once the message goes through, I anxiously wait to hear her reaction in the other room. Most of the time, she just shouts, “Why!?” while she laughs. This has happened enough times that I actually have a pretty good collection of these ‘embarassing face’ photos. I think one day I will make a calendar with them. They will make great office Christmas presents.

“The last thing I will say is, we only mess with Tiffany because we care about her.

I think she knows that.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    – Noah Jones

Ali MajazWhen I first started working at Uranus, I had no idea what I was getting into. I wish I did. My past experience of working in higher education allowed me to understand a few things about working in the USA. I thought Tiffany was going to be like a regular supervisor which I’ve had before, but I am glad that more than my boss, Tiffany is my friend.
She made it sound like we give her a hard time by cracking jokes at her 99.9% of the time. The fact is, she loves hanging out with us. She’d be bored to death if it wasn’t for us entertaining her 99.9% of the time at work. What I really like about this ‘marketing gang’ is that I can be myself amongst this group. They barely miss a chance to pull my leg, but I never let them get off the hook either. You need patience to handle my energy, especially when I am on my energy pills. Tiffany has learned over the period of 6 months to handle me and get the best out of me. That is what makes me feel comfortable in Uranus. I think she is the teddy bear of this marketing team and I love her the way she is, sassy, funny and caring.

AlekseiHonestly, at the beginning I wanted to say how great this place is, but everybody said it already.
My interaction with the film crew and miss Tiffany is kinda weird, because I don’t speak much English, but we understand each other non-verbally. Tiffany is really funny. She laughs all the time. I haven’t seen her not laughing yet. I think she does it even when she sleeps! Her laugh is really contagious and everyone likes it. She is more a friend to us than a manager, and this is really important. She is really kind and caring.

“I wish every job would have their own Tiffany. (Maybe we can clone her one day?)”

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 – Aleksei Baturin

How is Uranus handling covid-19?

Fudge Packers wore masks as they deep cleaned Uranus to get it ready for opening after the covid-19 quarantine

This is a serious question requiring a (mostly) serious answer. Uranus has been taking the virus threat very seriously and took steps to protect its staff and customers during the quarantine. On March 16, Uranus sent its staff home and shut its doors to the public in response to a quarantine order here in Pulaski County.

During the quarantine, two staff members stayed on property full time, protecting Uranus and preparing for when Uranus is open and flowing freely again. Katya “Kat” Kadavera and Jerry Watkins stayed on site, at opposite ends of Uranus, working on construction projects, cleaning, and preparing Uranus for the return of staff. During the quarantine, the Uranus Sideshow Museum was moved into a new remodeled space, the exhibits freshened up and added to, as well as given some very cool new features.

Kadavera, a major Sci-Fi fan, compared the experience to some of her favorite post-apocalyptic movies, “It’s like Mad Max, the first one.  Imagine being at the Main Force Police depot.   There was a lot of watching and maintenance while protecting and serving Uranus as the world outside hit the fan.”

Also during the quarantine, Tiffany Baker, took care of shipping orders out of Uranus, packing fudge in Uranus for all the happy customers out there and maintaining her social distance from Jerry and Kat. This made for awkward yelling conversations across the Uranus parking lot, but they managed it. Jerry had to turn his hearing aid up and Tiffany had to start wearing ponytails so her ears weren’t covered, but adaptation during a pandemic is important.

“The eeriness of being alone in Uranus was short lived, as The Mayor repeatedly popped his head in and out. Some may call it shouting, but to me it just seemed like a normal day of listening to his “great ideas.” As I worked diligently, to pack everyone’s fudge, he would pace back and forth spouting ideas to get Uranus safely reopened to the public,” Tiffany Baker said of her time in Uranus, during the quarantine.

During the quarantine I was appointed Police Commissioner and cook for the 24/7 security detail assigned to Uranus. Mornings on weekdays started with breakfast at 7:30am, and weekends 8:30am. Mayor Louie left us plenty of provisions to get creative with and dinners were fun utilizing the Redneck Nutz kitchen to whip up some of my favorite dishes. Kat commented that she hadn’t seen so many ways to combine ground beef and cheese in her life. Nights were pretty much quiet with security walk through every few hours except for an occasional sign falling off the wall and bumps and sounds I attributed to our resident ghost, Fred. He certainly didn’t mind having company in a quiet Uranus but made his presence known several times. Tiffany, the construction crew made days go by fast and the many calls asking if Uranus was open. We heard from many day after day on the road and look forward to reopening to the public,” Jerry Watkins told the Uranus Examiner.

During the quarantine, Mayor Louie stopped in to yell at them from doorways, bug Tiffany from at least a 15 foot distance, and hold Facebook Live conversations with the citizens of Uranus from home to keep the spirit of Uranus alive for fudge packers everywhere. His valiant efforts to keep spirits up in Uranus have earned him a nomination for citizen of the year from the Fudge Packers Union.

The Mayor appeared quite adamant, when he stated during a recent press conference, “People want their fudge packed now and I want to be packing their fudge now. This is how we get through this crisis. I have worked hard to make sure Uranus is clean as a whistle, so that when people start coming in Uranus again, it will be ready.”

On April 20, 2020, the staff of Uranus returned to a modified work schedule. The fudge packers are deep cleaning Uranus, wearing gloves, and masks, so that Uranus will be clean and fresh for visitors when it opens in May. The staff is getting deep into the cracks and crevices of Uranus, so it’s extra sparkling clean. They’re all doing this from a social distance from one another and, those that can, are doing some jobs from home, like this editor. Uranus is requiring that all staff wear masks and gloves, in order to protect themselves and the customers they serve. Staff is observing social distance guidelines as they work.

In fact, a staff meeting was held the morning they returned to work in which Mayor Louie yelled across the parking lot to staff gathered there, standing at least six feet apart and wearing masks. The staff all agreed afterwards that Mayor Louie needs a megaphone.

During this meeting, anonymous sources in the Mayor’s office, such as Miss Tiffany, told us that the Mayor said it would take “more than a pandemic” to stop him “from Packing the Fudge of our Citizens.”

What do you need to know about visiting Uranus or ordering from our online store? Every precaution is being taken. Uranus is taking the virus seriously, but we’re still making jokes and entertaining our customers and that’s why you love us. When we do open in May, we ask that our visitors observe the CDC guidelines as well with social distancing, hand washing, and being cautious too. After all, we want Uranus to stay healthy.

The Mayor and Tiffany are becoming TikTok famous!

A few weeks ago Uranus launched its own TikTok channel and the results have been so fun and funny for the Mayor and Tiffany!

Uranus fans are getting to see how crazy and fun it really is in Uranus as the Mayor and Tiffany entertain their fans on TikTok.  So far fans have gotten to learn all about the Big Black Cock in Uranus…

Then there was the time Tiffany smashed an egg on the Mayor’s head….

Halloween in Uranus

Is it Halloween Already? No, but we’re already starting the planning for Halloween in Uranus and we couldn’t be more excited! Last year, we saw more than 3,000 people and it was our biggest and most successful year yet, so you know we’re planning to top that again this year. Join us Thursday, October 31st, Halloween night in providing a safe, fun, and exciting Halloween experience for the entire family! This year, the event will be even bigger and better and we will see an even larger crowd than last year because we’ll be advertising it on television and in movie theaters around the region, as well as social media. The event is open to the public and we welcome children and their families to trick or treat with us!

If you’ve participated with us as vendor in the past, you know that we don’t charge for being here, unlike other places, we just ask that you provide your own candy, a game, or an activity for the thousands of kids and families that visit. This event is just about providing a free, safe, fun, experience for the community, but it does offer an opportunity to show who you are to an audience you might not otherwise meet and get some free advertising. However, Uranus is happy to help out vendors with letting you buy candy with us, in bulk, for cost, with our suppliers.

As a matter of fact, we’re opening up a few more spots for other businesses, individuals, and organizations to participate. There is still a limited number, but with the plan for this year, we believe we can accommodate even more businesses and organizations. You can decorate a trunk or you can bring a booth. Our plan includes space for both this year. However, the spots will go quickly, so you’ll need to lock yours in as early as possible. Those that have participated previously and do business with us have had the first chance at locking in a spot and now it’s your turn!

Those that participate get some perks that you can’t get anywhere else:

  • Mention on all of our extremely active and popular social media before and after the event with photos, video, etc.

  • Listed in The Uranus Examiner with photos after the event and the direct mailing to 50,000 people in the region (You may also be interested in buying advertising in the previous edition prior to the event, if so, email Tiffany Baker at tiffanyinuranus@gmail.com  before August 25 if you’re interested in buying an ad for that edition).

  • Mention on our websites

For the kids and families attending this year, we’re already planning on the following:

  • Petting zoo

  • Haunted house

  • Costume contest

  • Free hotdogs and popcorn

  • Bounce house

  • Carnival games

  • Face painting

(More to come as businesses and organizations confirm games and activities)

The Launch of Uranus Films! Season Negative 1, Episode 1

From the desk of the Mayor of Uranus, The Honorable and Handsome Louie Keen

HAPPY 4 YEAR BIRTHDAY TO URANUS!

4 years ago today, we opened the back door to Uranus and let the world come in to enjoy it!  I really want to thank the 1,000,000+ people who have come through our doors and explored Uranus in that time.

Today is also a big day for us as we announce the launch of Uranus Films.

This is a project I have been working on getting started for many years.  My new COO, Joe Grace has had a long and successful career in the entertainment and film/video world (plus a lot more) I will discuss him and his career in a future episode

I have a few other well known people in the industry who are going to be a part of this, but I am saving that info for an upcoming episode as well.  It is my understanding that I am supposed to create “mystery” so people will keep coming back for more?  Is that right?

Just as a point of reference, I am obviously not a film maker (yet) as you will see soon, but I am a pretty decent script writer and have a moderately acceptable sense of humor. However, with the right group of people joining us we can create some awesome things. The “Peeing in Uranus” video was produced from one of the many scripts I have written and want to produce in the near future

Over the past couple of years, we have been approached by several cable channels and production companies to create a Reality Show in Uranus.  However, I wanted to keep control of the narrative, so I have been buying equipment and am now learning how to use it and how to create great videos and cinematic films, plus I am putting together a team of people capable of doing it.

That is what this first season “Negative 1”  is all about. Myself and the team in Uranus learning how to use all this equipment, finding and recruiting people to join the team, building our other businesses while also expanding our operational ones.  It will be quite the task and I hope you have fun watching it.

There is more to the story below the video.  Here is Season Negative 1, Episode 1   The Story of Uranus

What staff do we need to hire to make this happen?  Who has already joined us in Uranus and how you can join us too.

04:  Pulling Money from Uranus
How we are going to try and pay for all this. We are going to have a serious discussion about getting a brick in Uranus in this episode

05: Uranus is expanding
Not only the new businesses we are opening, but our other businesses are growing as well. This episode will cover the expansion plans over the next 24 months

Have you watched the shows?  There was a clue in each to win a chance to win $50,000, plus we will talk about the Brick in Uranus

07: How the heck will I learn all of this?

I have to learn how use this equipment and how  to make videos/shows, I will answer the burning question of who has already joined the team in Uranus  (prepare to be impressed that this many big names are joining us, especially since Uranus is so tiny……right now anyway)

08: Let’s Talk about Uranus
Finalizing the plan and launching the Bricks in Uranus

It’s time to blow out the candles with Uranus!

It’s our birthday!

Uranus is turning four July 2, 2019 and we couldn’t  be more excited because we’ve come a long way in Uranus in the last four years. Uranus keeps growing and we add new things all the time.

The most notable new things in the last year or so have been our gorgeous new neon sign and the Uranus Sideshow Museum. Escape Uranus continues to expand and there are plans in the works to expand Uranus even more in the next two years. So much has changed in Uranus that those of you who have been with us since the beginning are really seeing the changes, but one thing has not changed. Uranus is still the most fun place to visit on Route 66, the Best Fudge still comes from Uranus, and the staff in Uranus is still the warmest, friendliest, funniest staff in the world!

This year, we’re celebrating our birthday with something new and fun. We’re creating a birthday box just for our online followers. Inside it are some things you can only get online in the box. How cool is that? Before you check out the  box, take a look at the Then and Now pictures of Uranus.

Mayor Louie made Jeremy Rabe of Ozarks Fox AM gag with more than laughter, literally, during his appearance on the show recently. Alien Encounter Described As ‘Kind of Awkward, Actually’

URANUS, MO––  A new set of extraterrestrials landed in Uranus last week to a lukewarm reception, according to reports from eyewitnesses.

On Friday, April 26th, a series of reports flooded the airwaves, all describing something to the effect of ‘strobing blue lights’ in the night sky. Few residents were soothed by the attempts to explain away the phenomenon–– Aurora Borealis, dry lightning, et cetera–– and suspected the explanation to lie beyond the boundaries of the natural world.

“It wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened,” expressed Bart Elliot, head chef at Moonicorn Creamery. “First there was Fred, then Little Willy. We’re no strangers to extraterrestrials, or whatever, probing Uranus. Stuff like this–– lights in the sky–– is usually the tip off that they’re about to land.”

“You know what they say about Uranus. ‘Open to all!’” attested Manager Tina of the Fudge Factory. “We’re a roadstop, you know. It doesn’t matter whether that road is Route 66, or some interstellar path beyond human comprehension. We’ll serve you coffee and laughs no matter who you are or where you’re going.”

At approximately 3am on Saturday morning, a cluster of residents gathered in one of the local fields to give the cosmic travellers a resounding Uranus welcome.

“The lights had become overwhelming by the point,” recalls Elliot, so we knew it was going to happen soon.”

According to multiple eye-witness descriptions, “your garden variety flying saucer” landed amidst the group of waiting Uranusites at exactly 3:07 am. This was confirmed, as everyone’s watches simultaneously stopped working.

A door in the craft slid open, and three humanoid creatures emerged. When asked to describe the alien visitors, many of those present expressed that they weren’t “anything special.”

“The shock factor goes away after a while,” shrugged Fudgepacker Elondra Jensen. “Once you’ve seen one alien, you’ve seen ‘em all.”

The interaction started off on a sour note as both parties began to speak at once.

The centermost alien spread his arms out and began his salutations just as the group erupted in their practiced “Welcome to Uranus!” A beat of silence followed, after which both parties overlapped again.

“Oh, I’m sorry––”

“No, we––”

“I was just––”

“You can go first––”

After some verbal shuffling, and a bit more silence, the alien that had spoken cleared his throat and said, “Yes. Um, well… greetings, Earthlings. I am Zorr of the planet Quexlar. We come to you in peace. I imagine first contact must be surprising, so––”

“Oh, no, it’s all right,” Manager Tina interjected at this point. “We’ve gone through this whole song and dance before.”

At this point, Zorr blinked at the group then turned towards his compatriots, whispering heatedly. He then turned back to the crowd.

“I’m sorry… you’re saying this isn’t your first alien encounter?”

The crowd collectively responded in the negative.

“Fred came to Uranus… what, a few years back? His ship was a ship kind of like yours,” explained Bart Elliot. “Of course, his was a lot bigger.”

“Our ship is a functional size!” Zorr allegedly snapped back. At this point, Zorr lapsed into a generally foul mood, meeting any attempt at correspondence with “no. No, whatever. It’s fine.”

“It was pretty passive aggressive,” recalled Jensen. “Everyone was really uncomfortable.”

Zorr and his party were extended an invitation to visit the town proper but declined, opting instead to shack up in the nearby Motel 6.

“We wouldn’t want to overcrowd you with aliens or anything,” were his scathing parting words.

“I’m glad they weren’t our first contact,” Bart Elliot later confided. “Those guys were jerks.”

Little Willy Missing In Uranus: Search Continues As Anonymous Source Speaks Out

Twelve days, and still no sign of Little Willy. Grief-stricken citizens redouble their search efforts, hoping once more to know the comfort of having our Little Willy in Uranus.

The Uranus Examiner relays the story thus far, and provides a sneak-preview of the upcoming special, What Happened to Little Willy In Uranus: A Uranus Examiner Special Report.

Uranus Examiner probes Uranus with Mayor Louie Keen Interview

The Uranus Examiner knows what the public wants. It wants Uranus.

The people want to get a full, penetrating look inside Uranus. They want to see the driving force behind Uranus. That is to say, they want to see the Mayor. But, more than that, they want to see the man who stands behind the title.

We all know that the most satisfying part of watching Scooby-Doo was always removing the monster’s mask and finding the politician and/or land developer underneath. In a three-part interview with Uranus Examiner Managing Editor Natalie Sanders, the Mayor removes his proverbial mask and lets the public gaze upon him, and see him for what he truly is. Handsome. Humble. And, most importantly, some other really great word that starts with H.

Mayor Louie gave the Uranus Examiner a deep look inside Uranus and what makes the mayor tick. Part one of the interview reveals Mayor Louie’s deeply humble and handsome nature.
